Let’s Study the Two Sides of the Coin

We all know the infamous Election day is coming around the corner, both Democrats and Republicans are on the edge of their seats, biting their nails and yanking their ties, sweating profusely as they wait for the results. But then again their are the independents (ex: Mr.D ) that honestly don’t really mind who wins, as long as the new president takes care of the nation, it’s all good. Now let’s say we’re independent. This essay will show you both sides of the coin, not just heads or just tails.

Democrats are known for wanting to help people in the middle class such as farmers, labor workers; and has gone against unregulated businesses.  They know how to work a balanced budget, but sometimes tend to go a little overboard with some private spending and investing. Speaking in economy territory, Democrats tend to lean on higher minimum wage.  They also rely on progressive taxes to help keep certain programs such as Medicare, Social Security, and Medicaid. This party believes in letting the general public have a affordable health care plan, which all of us need to have. Something that parents may like is the fact that Democrats want to give young people a low-cost, low-tuition fee so they can pursue their dreams and make it big in the world. They also support many other things, such as equal opportunity, same gender marriage, and being eco-friendly.

Don’t Democrats sound like they know what’s right for their nation?

Now, before you go and cast that ballot for Obama, let’s flip the coin and explore the Republican side. Remembering what was said in the beginning of the essay, we are currently independent and just merely learning the parties and their functions.

Republicans have many different aspects compared to Democrats. They oppose the idea of increasing minimum wage since it  injures the concrete structure of some businesses, constantly having to increase the prices on over sea trade and such. They believe in having a more complex federalism and give the power to the federal government to help rule the nation.  They come to one agreement with Democrats, and that’s keeping the environment clean and healthy. Other than that, they oppose most public school vouchers, trying to make private schools their primary goal. Republicans are also against the same gender marriage, which cost them a lot of votes.  The Grand Old Party is mostly business men, which caused them to get the stereotype that they favor the rich over the poor. There has been some incidents of that happening but nevertheless don’t let that stop you from voting for Romney.

In previous debates, Obama is focused on economy growth, keeping Medicare, efficient school programs, and tax cuts. Romney seems to be setting his sights on starting with smaller businesses, making taxes less, executing Medicare, getting rid of unnecessary programs, and removing minimum wages.

Now knowing all of this information, put your ballot in good use and vote for who you think has the best plan of making our nation better.
